Holidays and special occaisons are typically the times when health goals get brushed under the carpet and "Just one more," seems perfectly reasonable! It isn't till the holiday season is over and you look at your waistband that you wish you'd made a different choice.
With our Pomegranate Spritzer recipes you can keep saying, "Just one more," all night long with no regrets the next day. Slip the antioxidants of pomegranates in and it will help counteract some of the other not-so-healthy choices that pop up during parties and holidays.
We've got several pomegrante recipes for fun, healthy drinks so choose the one you like the most! We start with a quick and easy recipe, then an alcohol version (for when you've just got to jazz it up a little), followed by a full-tilt boogy start from scratch and juice your own pomegranates recipe.
Ingredients:
- 18 ounces of Lakewood pomegranate juice (or substitute another brand)
- 14 ounces of sparkling mineral water (we prefer Gerolsteiner or San Pellegrino... yum!)
- A small package of blueberries (you can substitute any small berry)
Directions:
1) Chill the pomegranate juice and sparkling mineral water for at least two hours in your refrigerator.
2) Right before serving, pour the pomegranate juice and sparkling mineral water together into a pitcher.
3) Stir gently to combine the juice and water..
4) Pour into four wine or champagne glasses.
5) Add three of the blueberries to each glass and serve.
This is the quick and easy two minute recipe. The blueberries make a nice accent in the bottom of the glasses and impart a hint of sweetness to the spritzer. Makes four 8 ounce servings...
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces of Lakewood pomegranate juice
- 8 ounces of sparkling mineral water (we prefer Gerolsteiner or San Pellegrino... yum!)
- 4 ounces of citrus juice (orange, lemon, tangerine or lime juice)
- 4 ounces of vodka
- 4 orange, lemon, tangerine or lime full circle slices
Directions:
1) Pre-chill the pomegranate juice and sparkling mineral water.
2) Either purchase or juice the citrus of your choice and then pre-chill it as well.
2) Right before serving, pour the pomegranate juice, vodka, citrus juice and sparkling mineral water together into a pitcher.
3) Stir gently to combine the flavors..
4) Pour into four cocktal or champagne glasses.
5) Slit the citrus circles halfway and garnish each glass with one.
You can make this a non-alcoholic spritzer by substituting the 4 ounces of vodka for more ounces of pomegranate juice. It's a tasty and fun drink with a bit of zing from the citrus. Serve and enjoy! It makes four 8 ounce servings.
Ingredients:
- 4 pomegranates (makes approx 20 ounces of juice)
- 1 package of fresh blueberries (1 pint)
- 1 bottle of sparkling mineral water
Directions:
1) Pre-chill your pomegranates, blueberries and mineral water for several hours in the refrigerator.
2) Cut the pomegranates, remove the rind and the pith. Juice the remaining seedy bits. (Full instructions for

Set 24 of the Pomegranate arils (seeds) aside.
3) Set 12 blueberries aside and juice the rest of them.
4) Combine the blueberry juice, pomegranate juice and sparkling mineral water in a pitcher and stir gently.
5) Pour into four wine or champagne glasses.
6) Add three of the blueberries and 6 of the Pomegranate arils to each glass and serve.
Makes a little more than four 8 ounce servings. Time from start to finish: about 20 minutes with juicer clean up time. You can also do your juicing ahead of time before your party and chill everything in the fridge. Just make sure not to add the mineral water until right before serving or you will lose some of the bubbly effects! Why blueberries? Try it out for yourself and you'll see why!
