Green Star Juicer OverviewThe Green Star Juicer line is manufactured in the United States by Tribest. They are twin gear juicers that can juice veggies, fruits, soft fruit, citrus, ginger, greens and wheatgrass. They are "the" all-purpose juicers on the market with more versatility than most other juice machines. Greenstar Juicers OutperformIf you're looking for all-purpose juicing, Greenstar juicers outperform just about every other brand on the market (excluding the Norwalk which retails at a whopping $2,400). The Green Star extractor is capable of juicing everything, which is rare in juicers. Most juice extractors excel at some things and fail at others. For example, many extractors can juice hard veggies with ease but bog up at the sight of citrus, berries and other soft fruits. Others are excellent citrus juicers but can't handle even juicing a carrot! The Green Star line on the other hand, can handle it all, plus act as a food processor creating fruit sorbet, baby food, nut butter, pasta and many other items. So is all perfect with Green Star juicers? While their twin gears can squeeze juice out of anything, those twin gears also make juicing a slower process than with a speedier centrifugal style juicer. Clean-up time is also significantly longer than with centrifugal designs, and even other twin gear brands. It really depends on what your focus is for juicing. If you want high juice yields, high enzyme retention, minimal juice heating and the ability to juice any fruit or veggie then Green Star juicers deserve a good look. If the idea of extra clean-up time makes you want to run for the hills (or a juice bar down the block) you may want to look at Breville juicers which can make a glass of juice in 5 seconds and clean up in less than 5 minutes. The trade-off is most Breville models won't be able to juice such a variety (till you hit their $300 elite model) and their durability isn't as good. All in all, we've given one of the Green Star juicer models, the Green Star Elite our Top Choice Award and a definite two thumbs up. The Green Star 2000 Juicer review is actually a combination review of model numbers GSE-1000, GSE-2000, and GSE-3000. All three model numbers are the exact same juicer. Each package just comes with different attachments and the three packages are most often referred to as the Green Star 2000 juicer. The 2000's claim to fame is great versatility! Just like the Elite, it can handle soft fruit, citrus, berries, hard veggies, ginger, greens and wheatgrass. The big drawback is the parts aren't dishwasher safe so you'd have to do some handwashing. With prices around the $500 mark, it sounds like a big investment (till you realize deals can be found for as little as $299. We'll tell you about the deals and a lot more in this review.
The Green Star Elite Juicer gets our top choice award for serious juice enthusiasts. At an MSRP price tag of $629, it's a juicer that will easily last for 10 years, 20 years, or longer. The biggest highlight of the Green Star Elite Juicer is its dual function as a wheatgrass juicer. No need to have a seperate dedicated wheatgrass juicer when you've got a Green Star Elite in the house! Upgrades to the Elite include a modernized housing and a new triple stage extraction process for even higher juice yield. |
