Cranberry Juice DetoxA cranberry juice detox can be beneficial for many reasons. It is a natural and gentle diuretic, which means it helps your kidneys do their job, eliminating toxins through urination. Cranberry juice also breaks up fat cells and helps the lymphatic system. I've created a complete cranberry detox program. Read on to get started with it... Detoxification with Cranberries
To get started, get some good quality pure cranberry juice. I'm not talking cranberry juice cocktail, I am talking the real deal. Look on the ingredient list. The only ingredients should be unsweetened cranberry juice and water. If there is added sugar, scrap it and look for something better. In order to get the real benefits of a cranberry juice detox, you've got to get the good stuff. I have had really good success with cranberry juice products from Knudsen and Lakewood. They are excellent companies for juice products with clean ingredients.
Optionally, you could juice your own cranberries. Juicing the cranberries will produce the highest quality juice and
facilitate detox better than any shelf product. If
you have a juicer, I would encourage you to follow this option.
Cranberry Juice Detox Program
The cranberry juice detox is going to last 7 days. Plan on having 2 8oz. glasses of cranberry juice daily for the entire week. The concentration should be at least one third pure cranberry juice. In an 8oz. glass, that will be 2 1/2 to 3 ounces juice, 5 or 6 ounces of water. The next ingredient to your cranberry juice detox is chlorophyll. There are many sources of chlorophyll. Pretty much any leafy green plant is loaded with it. For the purposes of the detox, I would go with a concentrated chlorophyll product from Herbs, etc. called Chloroxygen. You will find it at local health food stores or it can be purchased online. I have seen fantastic results with it. The chlorophyll is derived from Stinging Nettles, which is a powerful herb for reducing allergy symptoms. Other good chlorophyll products are made by DeSouza's, Sunny Green, and World Organic. As with the cranberry juice, if you have a juicer, juice fresh lettuces (not iceberg), kale, collards, alfalfa, or parsley. All are great sources of natural chlorophyll and the freshness will be unequaled. If you want specifics, go with the parsley. Parsley is also a good detoxifier for the kidneys and will fulfill a dual purpose. You'll only need an ounce of chlorophyll. Liquid chlorophyll is potent, don't add too much or the detox could be too powerful and end up being uncomfortable. Like, lock yourself in the bathroom uncomfortable. If you opted for the Chloroxygen, it will only take 18 drops because of its high concentration. The last ingredient will be fiber. There are a few options including acacia fiber, apple pectin, chia seed, or glucomannan. I could write an entire article about these groovy fiber sources, but that's for another time. Look up information about each and review the options. Pick one that works well for your needs. Now you have your ingredients for the Cranberry Juice Detox: pure cranberry juice, purified water, liquid chlorophyll, and fiber. If you are a little picky with taste, add a bit of a natural sweetener. I would use either stevia or raw honey. Combine all the ingredients and drink one glass every morning upon waking, and another glass 6-8 hours later. In addition to the cranberry juice detox drink, follow a clean diet. By clean, I mean mostly fruits and vegetables. The most important part of the diet is to avoid highly processed food, junk food, and fast food. You'll also want to avoid or greatly reduce meat, refined grains, and dairy products. Drink 64 ounces of water a day to help flush toxins out of your body. If you want to do a more aggressive detox, I would consider adding herbs to your cleanse. Milk thistle, dandelion root, burdock root and garlic are all good options for aiding detoxification. Follow label instructions with any product you get and pay attention to how it makes you feel. I would also encourage you to practice deep breathing a couple times a day, stretch, and get regular exercise. These practices will help the detoxification process and are generally healthy things to do. As you do this detox, pay attention to how your body feels. Your body is very good at telling you when something is wrong. We get out of balance when we ignore it. Listen to your body and respond in a way that makes sense and feels right. When detoxifying, it is common for people to get what are called detox symptoms. Detox symptoms can include mild headaches, skin blemishes, and temporary lethargy. These symptoms come from toxins which were stored in fat cells, joints, and other body tissues. As your body cleanses, these toxins will come out of hiding. When they get to your liver, your body will let you know you by making you feel a bit rough. These symptoms are typically short-lived and are a sign that you are getting rid of stuff that could cause big trouble if left in your body for long. Plan on doing the cranberry juice detox every three months. That will ensure that toxins don't get a chance to accumulate to such a degree that it comes back to haunt you. If you want to do it for a longer period of time, do so. It's gentle enough to be done for extended periods or even as a regular thing. Enjoy the benefits of your cranberry juice detox. In my work, I can't think of a single practice that yields a positive response more consistently. It raises energy levels, clears toxins from the body, aids in stabilizing weight to an optimal level and can end urinary tract infections naturally. Give it a try and see how you feel...
