You won't find discounts on Amazon, bizrate, Shopzilla or any of the other online shopping venues.

That's no reason not to buy a Norwalk Juicer though! There's always ebay and it's the best place to buy a Norwalk.

You'll find deals on used Norwalks that are often less than half of the full $2,400 price, even as low as $250! Check out live auctions for Norwalk Juicers to the right that are going on right now. Or, skip down past the ebay auctions and read our full Norwalk Buyer's Guide to help you make the right decision before you make a purchase.

Norwalk Juicer Buyer's Guide

founder of norwalk juicers

Norwalk was literally the first company to create a juice extractor way back in 1934. Dr. Norman Walker, pictured to the left, was a raw food and fresh juice advocate who invented the hydraulic press juicer. Norwalks of present day still resemble those first extractors and they still produce more juice than any other juicer on the market.

People who choose Norwalks are often looking for the best juicer available, but some hesitate when they find out the retail price on a brand new model starts at $2,400. Luckily for you, there's Ebay, where people from all over the world sell items they no longer use.

On ebay it's possible to buy a Norwalk juicer that's been pre-owned for as little as $400 to practically brand new models around $1,600. After checking recent auctions we even found a working Norwalk for $250 that didn't get any bids at all! A Norwalk for less than the price of a Champion? Yes, it is possible on ebay.

Before you start bidding though, we've compiled a quick checklist of things to do to make sure you're happy when your discount Norwalk juicer shows up in the mail. The goal isn't just to buy a Norwalk juicer, the goal is to make sure you get a fully functioning model that is the best juicer for you. So let's get started with our buying guide...

Read the Auction Description Carefully: Make sure to read the seller's description carefully. For example a recent auction that was listed at a starting price of $5 stated there was no head assembly. That auction didn't get any bids, because most folks don't know how to replicate a head assembly! Unless you're a handy small engine mechanic (or know one) you're better off skipping any auctions that mention missing parts or non-functioning parts.

Check the Seller's Feedback Score: Ebay is run on a "feedback system". Every time someone buys an item from a seller they can leave a positive rating or a negative rating. It's basically a thumbs up or down about how the seller conducted the transaction. If a seller has less than a 90% positive rating, skip them! Yes 90% sounds good, but in the ebay world it's the bottom rating you should bid at. Anything less than 90% means more than 10% of their buyers were unhappy enough to give a thumbs down. Find another Norwalk juicer auction seller who has a 90% or better rating so you can have confidence in your purchase.

Look at the Pictures: Each ebay seller can choose to show pictures of the juicer they are selling. I wouldn't buy a Norwalk without seeing a photo of it first. Look at the photos carefully for any damage. A used Norwalk may have mild damage to the housing which shouldn't be an issue, but things to look for are frayed cords, serious dents or signs of abuse.

Place your Bid Early:To win an auction on ebay you place a bid. Placing a bid early will let you easily track the auction as it progresses in your "active bidding" console. Placing an early bid will also let you know if another bidder has placed a high bid (more in the next section).

Place your Maximum Bid:It is important to place your maximum bid when you bid on ebay because otherwise you can lose the auction. For example, if a bid is at $200 and you put in a bid of $205, chances are the bidder before you has placed a maximum reserve bid higher than that. So all that happens is the bid now shows at $205 and you get a notice saying you have been outbid. It's not that the other bidder is sitting at their computer, bidding against you at the exact same moment. It's that they've placed a maximum reserve bid. In this case their maximum reserve bid may be $275 or it may be $500. Until you bid higher than the amount of their maximum reserve, they will continue to win the auction.

Choosing a Maximum Bid: Decide how much is the maximum you are willing to spend. It may be $300 or it may be $1600 depending on the age and condition of the Norwalk juicer model. Check your budget and make that maximum bid. Then walk away from the auction knowing that no one is going to easily come in, add $5 to your bid, and win.

Check the Auction End Time: If it is convenient for you, check in on the auction about thirty minutes or an hour before it is scheduled to end. That way you will be able to check and see if someone else has outbid you. This can be helpful if you have a little wiggle room in your budget and are willing to go a little higher in your bidding.

We hope our little guide helps you buy a Norwalk juicer at a dramatic discount. A Norwalk will last a lifetime. It is the best juicer available!
